Welcome to the 2010 Summer Junior Tennis Program. This year our goal is to include a level of competition for every player to enhance their tennis experience. In addition to our regular lesson and drill schedule we will be offering an optional “match play” day for those ready. We will be splitting our junior program into two groups, Quickstart and Competitive.
QuickStart is the USTA’s version of progression tennis and uses smaller courts and low compression balls. We used this format in 2009 and had incredible success. Watching 7&8 year olds compete against each other with consistent rallies was a dream come true. After discussing Quickstart with top USTA National coaches, our program and implementation of Quickstart is on the cutting edge of junior development and I look forward to continuing that progress. Quickstart is for our younger players ages 4-11. We also include Beginner Teens in this group for ages 12-16. Competetive levels are during the afternoons with every player having an opportunity to play matches. There will be four levels ranging from our top junior players who play high level varsity and tournaments to our newest players who have advanced from Quickstart into full court matches for the first time. Within each Competitive level we will be splitting the classes into courts based on levels for the drills. Each week our staff will be lesson planning to be sure the kids get the most out of each class. Of course games and competitions will be the foundation of fun within these groups.
